TVRA Club Information
The Treasure Valley Radio Association (TVRA) is dedicated to promote Amateur Radio in our community and assist other emergency service organizations when ever possible. We strive to provide emergency communications to assist with public service in our community, as well as providing emergencies communications services to assist disaster agencies when an emergency may affect the surrounding communities. Membership in our nonprofit organization may benefit members with the following activities.
- We provide 4 local area repeaters serving Idaho and Oregon, to extend and improve communications between members and other amateurs when traveling through our area. The TVRA weekly net is held on Tuesday at 7:30 PM. The format is informal and allows members to report on their recent activities. Members are also advised of upcoming events, activities and meetings. All amateurs are welcome to check it and participate in our net.
- Provide license upgrade and VE testing to anyone who wishes to become an Amateur Radio operator or to upgrade their current amateur license.
- Assist members to improve their emergency skills by providing communication services to area parades and public service activities like Special Olympics meets, etc.
- Promote fellowship among members with social events and activities, such as Hidden Transmitter hunts ( fox hunts), Picnics, Field Day, Christmas party and a social meeting each month at Sizzler Restaurant in Ontario Oregon.
- TVRA also strives to keep our members informed on leading technologies by providing guest speakers and demonstrations at the social meeting.
- Any person interested in the hobby of Amateur Radio are invited to contact any officer to find out more about the hobby or our organization.
- Meeting are held on the 2nd Thursday of the month. This is a social meeting held at Sizzler Restaurant at 830 SW 1st Avenue, Ontario, Oregon. The meeting begins at 7:30PM and includes interesting and informative speakers, operating and construction demonstration and activities. Many attendees arrive early to partake in nourishment from the restaurant prior to the meeting. Please play to join in our club meeting.
