May 12, 1983:
“Motion to leave the Rpter Insurance the same by Max seconded by Ted ù defeated.
“Motion by Jerrold [Gerald?] Hagans to raise the policy to $25.00. Seconded by Trapper – passed.”
“Computer bill to be paid by Sec/Treas as soon as we get it. Moved [by] Trapper. Seconded by Harvey Easton – passed.
“Moved by Trapper that the Sec/Treas can use repeater funds on the Hamfest – Seconded by Max Heyde – passed.”
June 9, 1983:
“The new repeater is installed and working really well except for an Ider problem and hangs up at times. Lowell has the old repeater and power supply, battery and battery box. Lowell wants wants [sic] to trade a $39.57 bill we owe him for repeater parts for the battery and box. Motion by Trapper to do this seconded by Keith. Motion passed
“Motion by Keith to sell the repeater and power supply after Lowell gives an interested party the first chance to buy. [Historian’s note: Which repeater are we talking about here? The original Motorola tube job from Army MARS, or the solid state one made up from cannibalized transceivers?] Seconded by Karl. Motion passed.

March 8, 1984:
“Trapper reported that the automatic shutdown on the repeater isn’t functioning properly. It was suggested that Lowell be notified.’
November 8, 1984:
“Lowell reported on the repeater. Control is off at present waiting for the repeater committee to fix it.”
December 13, 1984:
“Trapper mentioned that the club still had a repeater for sale.”
January 10, 1985:
“Trapper suggested we advertise the old repeater for sale. Moved by Trapper that we advertise the used repeater for sale. Sec. By Coral B. [Karl Burket?]. Motion carried.
“Trapper suggested we do some finer [fence?] work at the repeater site when weather will permit.”
February 14, 1985:
“Trapper advertised the repeater on the air. Repeater report from Lowell.
“Lowell brought the shutdown to be put back on repeater. Repeater seems to be running fine.”
April 11, 1985:
“Repeater report by Trapper who inspected facility within past month. Reported equipment functioning normally.”
May 9, 1985:
“Moved by Trapper that we pay insurance $35.00 for the repeater. Passed.”

“Chuck W7NO was wondering if we ever had the lease with Loretta signed and filed.

“It was suggested that the Sec. Look up the lease for the repeater.”
February 13, 1986:
“Trapper Neary reported that there were no apparent outages of the club repeater, K7OJI, during the past month. No maintenance was required on the facility.”
March 13, 1986:
“The Sec/Treasurer gave a report on the status of the club repeater. Club members were advised of the receipt of numerous spare parts for the Motorola equipment from “Skinner” Ross Kinney WA7DHD.”
April 10, 1986:
“Carl Peterson, KE7FT, queried the club members regarding replacement of repeater antenna. He has a surplus 150 MHz gain antenna which he will check for frequency coverages and then advise of findings.
“Trapper Neary N7AA advised that the fence surrounding the repeater building is badly in need of repair. Pres. Burket has the replacement posts and on his return it behooves the club members to make repairs. Suggested date was the Saturday following the May meeting after the usual breakfast gathering.”
May 8, 1986:
“Entire group agreed to participate as a group to repair [the] fence around repeater building Saturday morning following the club breakfast.”
October 9, 1986:
“Karl [sic] Peterson volunteered to sponsor a Tuesday night check-in of members and/or non-members on the local repeater each Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
“Karl [sic] Peterson advised that a former Telco VHF repeater site could be made available to use by the local club’s repeater. The location may be more favorable for local coverage than the presently occupied site. He will check with Telco regarding the legal aspects of leasing the site.”
[Historian’s note: Apparently what the Sec’y’s. Minutes referred to as “Telco” was the Malheur Bell Telephone Co.]
November 13, 1986:
“Lowell Bye reported that a survey had been made of the Telco Repeater site and [it] appeared to be suitable for use for the club’s repeater. No information has been received from Telco relative to a leasing agreement.”
December 11, 1986:
“Carl Peterson reported that the lease agreement for the proposed new repeater site is awaiting receipt from Telco.”
February 12, 1987:
“Carl Peterson reported the site lease for the repeater on Telco property was still in state of preparation.”
March 12, 1987:
“Carl Peterson reported that the lease for the Telco repeater site was in the local Telco office.”
April 9, 1987:
“Carl Peterson reported that Telco requests a petition for use of their site for the installation of the club’s repeater. Moved by Jim Johnson, W7TYG, seconded by Gerald Hagans, WB7REZ, to refer action of the Telco lease to the Executive Committee for further action. Motion passed.”
May 14, 1987:
“Vice-President Peterson commented that the sensitivity of the club’s repeater appeared to be lower than normal.
“Vice President Peterson briefed the members on the license submitted to the club for use of the Malheur Bell Telephone Co. Property for installation of the club’s repeater equipment. The Executive Committee to evaluate the condition of the License and report to members at the next meeting.
“Moved by Max Heyde and seconded by Harvey Easton that the premium of $35.00 for insurance on the club’s repeater be paid. Motion carried.”
September 10, 1987:
“Karl, KC7JU, advised that he would not be able to conduct the Tuesday evening two meter net [on] account of classes at TVCC conflicting at that time. Alternate net control stations to be as follows:
“Carl, KE7FT to take control on 15 & 22 Sept.
“Jim, W7TYG, to take control on 4th and 5th Tuesdays of each month.
“Ted, W7RFG, will have control on 3rd Tuesday of Oct., Nov. & Dec.
“Al, N7APF, to take net control on 2nd Tuesday of Oct., Nov. & Dec.”
October 8, 1987:
“The proposed move of the Two Meter Repeater to a different geographical location was tabled until the next meeting.”
November 12, 1987:
“Moved by Jim Johnson, W7TYG, seconded by Gerald, WB7REZ, to sign [the] agreement with Telco for repeater operation at the companies [sic] remote site. Motion passed.”
January 14, 1988:
“The contract with Malheur Bell Telephone Co. For lease of a repeater site to be signed by Directors and forwarded to Carl Peterson, KE7FT.”
February 11, 1988:
“Al Davey, N7APF, reported that the Telco repeater site lease had been signed by the proper individuals and turned over to the telephone company personnel.”
March 10, 1988:
“Pres. Ted questioned the availability of copies of the lease of the Telco repeater site. Vice President Carl, KE7FT, should have copies for the club, but he was not present to affirm receipt of a copy or copies.”
April 14, 1988:
“The repeater committee agreed to check the new repeater site for advisability of setting up equipment on a temporary basis to check out coverage from the Telco owned site.
“Moved by Karl Burket that the next meeting be held at the Telco repeater site on May 12 at 18:30 local time. Seconded by Gerald Hagans. Motion passed.”
“Sec/Treasurer advised that insurance premium for repeater was due and payable. Karl Burket moved that the insurance premium be paid. Seconded by Everett Lively Motion carried.”
May 12, 1988:
“An informal meeting of the T.V.R.A. was held at the Malheur Bell Repeater site which is available for use by the club if tests prove satisfactory.
“A few of the members had difficulty finding the site. Those who had 2 meter equipment were assisted in finding the proper route. Those who had no radio equipment eventually found the site.
“Several hours were spent inspecting the building, site, and surrounding terrain.
“No formal business was processed.”

September 8, 1988:
“The report on the insurance coverage of the fire at the repeater site [Apparently refers to the site on Loretta’s, WA7IVU’s, property] as per Sec/Treas Palmer’s notes.
“Vice President Carl Peterson briefed the members about the possibility of checking operation of a digipeater at the club’s repeater site [which?] by Larry Smith, W7ZRQ, of Boise.
“Carl Peterson advised that Malheur Bell Telephone Co. Will donate numerous articles of test equipment to the radio club for use or for sale. He suggested that the equipment be sold by auction at a later date.
“Moved by Max Norquist, seconded by Bow [Bob?] Bowker that the Telco surplus equipment be brought to the October meeting for disposal and/or sale. Motion passed,”
October 13, 1988:
“Comments were made by various individuals regarding maintenance and repair of both the old and new repeater sites.
“Moved by Jim Johnson, W7TYG, seconded by Max Norquist, N7KJL, that repairs be made to [the] building at the new (Telco) site. Motion passed.
“A work party to repair roof of [the] repeater building on Saturday, October 22 at 10:00 a.m.”
November 16, 1988:
“Bob Bowker, K6QT, reported that there was no work accomplished on the repair of the roof on the Telco repeater building as no one was at the site to forward dimensions of the roofing material to him on the 15th of October.”
“The availability of access to [the] repeater site building was discussed as no key [is] available except from Carl Peterson. Karl Burket to contact Carl Peterson regarding the solving of [the] problem.”
December 8, 1988:
“Carl Peterson reported that he had two additional keys made for the padlock at the Telco repeater site. Keys were given to the Sec/Treas until such a time as individual[s?] may be designated the responsibility for maintenance of the site and equipment.”
February 7, 1989:
“Discussion consisted of comments regarding the maintenance an operation of the present and former repeater sites.”

“Work on repeater ù Carl Peterson wished to pass on repeater trustee to someone else due to new job he he [sic] [is] leaving town.”
April 12, 1990:
“President advised that Carl Peterson could no longer assume responsibility for repeater control station due to changing work assignment. A new station control is needed. Al Davey and Ed Fujii will try to work out a mutual agreement to cover the requirement.”
May 10, 1990:
“...No further information on control station but Ed and Al still agreeable to accept responsibility.”
November 8, 1990:
“Discussion on repair of repeater building and need for volunteers for a work party.”
March 14, 1991:
“A discussion followed concerning the club station call and the role of the repeater trustee.
